Battery settings
If a battery is connected to the inverter, it can be configured. The settings differ between the MDC Host and the MDC Client.
As the MDC Host inverter takes over the control of all batteries in a system network comprising multiple batteries, common settings must be configured in the MDC Host. For all other MDC Client inverters with a battery, only the battery’s state of charge is configured.
As a rule, the default battery settings can be applied.
Configuring batteries connected to the inverter
Battery usage: This menu item is only available on the MDC host inverter. The settings for battery usage made on the MDC host inverter apply equally to all MDC client inverters.
Battery settings: This menu item is available on the MDC Host and MDC Client inverters, although on the MDC Client only the state of charge (e.g. setting the minimum state of charge SoC) can be configured. On the MDC Host, backup operation and other battery settings can also be configured here.
Storage of surplus AC energy from local generation: This function is automatically activated on the MDC Host inverter and cannot be changed. This ensures that the energy from all PV inverters present in the domestic grid is used to charge the battery system. This function is not available on MDC Client inverters that have a battery connected. The batteries of all MDC client inverters are controlled via the MDC host inverter.
