Devices with EEBus capability in the local network can be connected/coupled with the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter using the Smart Grid function. The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter can receive data from EEBus-capable devices such as smart meter gateways with control box functions and control the consumers behind them.
The following usage scenarios can be applied via the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter.
| Parameter | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Limitation of Power Consumption (LPC) | Limitation of power drawn from the grid This usage scenario can be used to allow external parties to control the power drawn from the grid (e.g. a power limitation for the ENECTOR or in order to charge a connected battery from the grid). Note: The battery can only be controlled by means of LPC with the inverter G3 SW version 3.6.0. |
| Limitation of Power Production (LPP) | Limitation of power generation This usage scenario can be used to allow external parties to control the feed-in (e.g. of a KOSTAL inverter). |
INFO

Smart meter gateways may only be coupled with the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter if they send data to the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter. It is possible to couple other devices that are EEBus-compatible, but they are not controlled through the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter. This can lead to error messages or malfunctions for the coupled devices.
EEBus devices in the same network are detected automatically and are displayed under EEBus connections. If an EEBus device has been found and you want to connect it to the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter, you have to manually confirm the connection, also called ‘coupling’.
All available EEBus devices are listed under EEBus connectivity.
The Smart Grid function can be called up via the side menu or via the Smart Grid symbol.
