Parameter | Explanation |
---|---|
Host name | The host name is the device’s unique designation in the network. Any name can be chosen and may contain upper-case letters, lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens. |
DHCP | When DHCP is activated, the device automatically obtains an IP address, e.g. from a router. No further settings are needed in this case. If a static IP address is to be set, DHCP must be deactivated and the Advanced settings opened. A static IP address, subnet mask, standard gateway and DNS server can be configured here. If UPnP is activated, the device is automatically detected by PCs in the same network and displayed in the network environment. This makes it easier for the user to find the device in the network if he or she doesn't know the IP address. |
