Connecting the mains cable

DANGER

danger

Risk of death due to electrical shock and discharge!

  • De-energise device and secure against being switched on again.

CAUTION

caution

Risk of fire due to overcurrent and heating of the mains cable

If mains cables are too small, they can heat up and cause a fire.

  • Use a suitable cross-section.
  • Install line circuit breaker to secure against overcurrent.

INFO

Info

Whenever working inside the inverter, only ever use insulated tools to prevent short-circuits.

INFO

Info

This product may cause direct current in the external protective earth conductor. A type A or B ≤ 300 mA residual current device (RCD) can be used on the AC side. The use of a type A RCD is enabled in the web server under Service > General > External hardware settings > Residual current devices. (Default setting: RCD type A enabled).

INFO

Info

Refer to the technical data for the dimensioning of the required AC line circuit breaker.

Single-wire cables (type NYY-J or NYM-J) without core end sleeves can be used with the AC terminal.

When using cables with fine wires (type H05../H07RN-F), core end sleeves must be used. Ensure that the contact length is 18 mm.

  1. Set the DC switch on the inverter to 'Off '.
  2. Disconnect the domestic mains supply.
  3. Secure the household fuses to prevent them from being switched back on.
  4. Remove the screws from the lower cover and take off the cover.
  5. Press the latch together and remove the cover of the connection compartment.
  6. Lay the mains cable from the power distribution board to the inverter correctly.
  7. Insert the mains cable into the inverter and seal it with the sealing ring and union nut. The sealing ring can be adjusted to fit the mains cable by peeling off the individual sealing rings from the inside out. Tighten the union nut to the specified torque.
  8. If the screw connections are not used, leave the sealing ring in the screw connections.
  9. Connect the wires of the mains cable to the AC connection terminal in accordance with the labelling.
The inverter is equipped with spring-loaded terminal blocks for connecting the AC cables. The wires must be inserted into the large round openings of the terminal block. Wire end ferrules must be used for stranded cables.
  10. Install a residual current circuit breaker and a circuit breaker in the mains supply cable between the inverter and the feed-in meter to provide protection against overcurrent.
  11. In countries where a second PE connection is required, connect this to the marked point on the housing (external).
  1. The AC connection is now connected.
